Curriculum

I graduated in 2016 with the Best Academice Record Award from the University of Granada, completing two master¿s degrees in Artificial Intelligence. During my studies, I earned a research initiation grant and later an FPU contract (FPU18/00150) for my PhD, which was awarded Cum Laude and the International Mention after a stay at Imperial College London. My research, conducted within the Intelligent Databases and Information Systems group, focuses on natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and disinformation detection in social networks. I have led pioneering work in explainable AI and disinformation detection, obtaining my group¿s first project as Principal Investigator and publishing multiple Q1 JCR papers. To date, I have 9 JCR papers, over 160 citations, and extensive experience in national and international collaborations, including projects with INESC-ID (Portugal), Legind Technologies, and the Spanish Civil Guard. My international presence includes three European projects, invited talks, and research stays in London, Bergen, and Lisbon, where I developed systems for monitoring cyber abuse on social media. My academic and professional activity demonstrates both scientific excellence and leadership. I have participated in nine research projects, organized international events (e.g., IPMU, FQAS), reviewed for 10 journals with over 50 reviews, and maintained close ties with the private sector through innovation projects for SMEs such as SiftyML. My dissemination work includes participation in the European Researchers¿ Night, Science Week, and various outreach initiatives, along with interviews and public talks. In teaching, I have mentored several master¿s students, resulting in published JCR and conference papers, and contributed to the University of Granada¿s teaching innovation project on ethical generative AI. With over 300 teaching hours and AI training courses for SMEs, my career reflects a strong commitment to advancing AI research, education, and its positive impact on society.
